Referrals for Patients
Mount Auburn Healthcare coordinates referrals when outside evaluation is appropriate. If your provider determines that a specialist consultation would be helpful, we will discuss referral options with you and help arrange the appointment.
How referrals work
- Your provider discusses the reason for a referral with you
- We help identify appropriate specialists based on your needs
- Referral timing depends on clinical review and specialist availability
- Patients should verify coverage requirements directly with their health plan
After your specialist visit, records can be sent to our office through normal authorized channels. Our team will incorporate the specialist findings into your care plan and follow up with you as needed.
